SAP SuccessFactors is the enterprise HCM suite for organisations already invested in the SAP ecosystem - and that's both its greatest strength and limitation. The talent management modules are genuinely excellent, with particularly strong performance management, succession planning, and learning capabilities that have been refined over two decades. Employee Central provides solid core HR with the global compliance coverage that multinational corporations require. However, the user experience still trails Workday, implementation complexity is significant, and the platform works best when integrated with other SAP products. Pricing is modular and complex, which gives flexibility but makes budgeting challenging. For SAP-shop enterprises with 1,000+ employees, SuccessFactors is a natural fit. For everyone else, Workday or even modern mid-market platforms may be more appropriate.
